Associate / Principal / Senior Planner

We are looking for an Associate, Principal, Senior Planner to join our Cardiff or Swansea office in response to an increasing workload from a wide range of clients.

Role                            

These roles requires someone that is capable of maintaining the highest standards of client care and be technically compliant. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a number of projects of mixed complexity and duties will include site appraisals; public consultation; project coordination, preparation, submission and monitoring of planning applications for a range of developments including residential, commercial, leisure, education, health and renewable energy development. The role will also require project coordination of any appeals including written representations and supporting senior staff at hearings and public inquiries. It is expected that the Principal Planner will support and mentor junior team members.

Skills/Experience      

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience for the Senior Planner and 6 years for the Principal Planner role and ideally be a Chartered Member of the RTPI. You will have good verbal and written communication skills, a sense of humour, the ability to work well within a team, commercial awareness and project coordination skills in line with your experience as well as being flexible and adaptable in your approach. Previous local authority experience would be of benefit but is not essential. A full driving licence and access to a car is a requirement.
