Mixed use development including 486 residential units, riverside walk and river defence works, commercial development, car parking and new public areas on a key strategic redevelopment site on the River Usk in Newport City Centre.
Asbri Planning were appointed on the project by Taylor Wimpey as lead consultants. The original full planning application was for the comprehensive mixed-use redevelopment of the site and was subject to a thorough Environmental Statement. Following the economic downturn the site has been the subject of several re-plan applications, each of which has required the preparation of further Environmental Statements.
Asbri Planning have co-ordinated the development team in successfully securing a suite of planning permissions, including the drafting of Environmental Statements, input into Design and Access Statements, negotiation with the LPA and third parties, negotiation on S106 agreements and discharge of planning conditions.
Asbri Planning have forged an excellent working relationship with the LPA on the project which has helped ensure the timely determination of applications.
