PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Development of a new state-of-the-art Police Learning Centre constructed on the Police Headquarters site in Bridgend. This new facility is intended to improve the efficiency and the effectiveness of the training and recruitment of police staff in one flexible building, replacing a number of redundant buildings.

The project consists of 3 separate projects including the main building, the purpose-built on-site training facility and the extensive site-wide facilities, comprising a newly constructed four-storey learning facility featuring 22 training classrooms and office space to accommodate approximately 200 desks for internal departments across the police force. The Police Learning Centre is home to several specialist units such as the Operations Training Unit, Investigative Training Unit and Policing Through Technology Unit as well as a fully equipped gymnasium comprising two large training suites for fitness tests, taser training and officer safety training, plus classrooms and a lecture theatre.
